Thread regarding Citrix Systems Inc. layoffs

Small layoffs in EMEA

Since the EU has the workers council I was wondering if Citrix can do small 1-8 people layoffs without Worker Council approval. Or do all employee affecting actions need to go through the workers council ?

It changes from country to country and only in some of them the 1 year might have been applied. That's coming from the local legislations.

Good question. It’s probaby harder to lay people off on a whim in Europe . I suspect all employee have to go through some sort of approval prices from some government board before the employer can act.

I know for a fact many EU staff got 1 year or more of severance after the October 2017 layoffs. This was forced on citrix by the workers councils in Germany .
