Thread regarding Enbridge Inc. layoffs

Happy Anniversary!

Happy anniversary to those who got laid off one year ago today, and there were a lot of us! I got a great package and found another job quickly so it worked out for me. I know for many it hasn't, but keep the faith! I miss my former colleagues but I found there is life after Enbridge! Good luck to all current and former employees.

To the last comment - there are still people who works like they own the company. They are so entitled they do their personal shopping online at work, book their vacations at work using the company’s computer, study for their exams during work hours, go for an hour for a coffee with a friend but book it on their calendar to show they are on a meeting, gossip around and still count as working hours, smoke break and lunch breaks goes towards work hours too. If you are an employee maybe the effective work hours of these people are 4 hours a day. But some contractors are teal winners by charging 50-60 hours a week but nowhere to be found after 5pm. Oh well, they work from home including weekends. Maybe they are also working while walking their dogs or grocery shopping on the weekend. The place had become a breeding ground for entitled and unethical people. Whinning about the ethics of management but doesn’t look at themselves too.

I was in the group that was laid off in October of 2016, and while I'm still job searching, I couldn't be happier to be out of that disgusting place. Not only the terrible management and disgusting officers, but employees who take total advantage of things, show up late to work all the time, never work their full amount of hours, don't work when they are there, the list goes on and on. If you are in the next layoff, consider yourself lucky.

Getting laid off a year ago was the best thing that happened for my career. I loved SE, but found a job much more fulfilling. If you are miserable at ENB, I wish you well at finding a job somewhere else. You just have to be brave enough to leave. Don’t waste any more time being miserable, because you alone are responsible for your career.
