Take the money. Tell them what they want to hear. Show them what they want to see. (minimal effort only) and prepare for new career. Laugh behind their back and document ALL interactions positive and negative. If you are over forty document any and all references to your age.

I don't understand why you would waste your time documenting all interactions. Staples is done, stop stressing and simply do a half-assed job and use your time constructively; learn new skills, polish your CV, practice job interviews, etc.

Oh and let them know you are keeping notes, just as a business practice(wink wink) and occasionally send a question to HR referencing one of these motes(just a friendly question). You will keep THEM worried and they will be much more likely to treat YOU fairly and you will likely end up with MORE MONEY in the end.
