Thread regarding IBM layoffs

Who else is nervous about this week?

I'm not really sure if something is happening or not, but there are plenty of indicators to make me very nervous about the coming week.

We have had enough of false alarms lately, so I'm trying not to get too worked up about it before knowing for sure, but that's not working all that well, I guess.

In any case, if somebody knows what we are looking at after March 22, please share.

I left on my own because of the RA stress. Everything got better quickly. Start your job search now if you feel anxious - it may go easier than you think.

Be nice to Dave. He has a few weeks or months then he will be out the door.

-kea -- Humour is subjective and best left to the professionals or gifted amateurs who have the sense and skill to either ride the glory of their first wisecrack ONCE or follow-up with new material. Nobody's disputing the need for humour and a degree of venting against IBM but Dave's childish repetition of a predictable, barely amusing meme is getting up people's noses now as evidenced by comments on this board and over at Watching IBM.

"gaggles" - maybe the first couple of hundred times. Pretty old and stale. Not that we need a fresh meme. I doubt anyone is coming here stressed and looking for news about losing their job and having that wiped away by a hashtag.

Trudging thru this life is no easy task and dropping a little levity on the trials and terrors that this once fine company has dumped on us has produced a healthy number of gaggles to people trying to cope with it.

He seriously reminds me of that one kid in elementary school who said something funny once, and then kept saying it after the class laughed the first time. Much like that kid in elementary school, it just annoys everyone while he still thinks he's hilarious.

Anyway, I think it's safe to say that anyone who frequents this site or watching IBM are nervous. And rightfully so, given the rumors...

Oh great, there's that childish annoying immature Dave guy from Watching IBM, desperate for attention. "Hey, I'm that ibmsux guy! Its my thing, my calling card! Everyone knows me, I'm famous!"

I think we're all nervous about it. Try not to dwell on it, I know that's not easy when you have bills to pay, etc. Focus your energy on what your next step will be. Talk to your significant other, figure out a plan. Get your resume out there to be a step ahead of everyone else that gets cut. All sources report that life is amazing after IBM, far less stress!
