Thread regarding Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) layoffs

I guess Chris Hsu wasn't really "All In". He just quit as CEO of Micro Focus

Another minon of Meg is done with his job.

His tag line when speaking to us employees was "ALL IN" and wore tshirts with this on them during coffee talks and town hall meetings.

I guess he never made it all the way in??

Trading update coming... Watch Micro Focus stock drop to MICRO levels.

Thanks MEG.

It is ignorant to believe he quit. Do you really believe Micro Focus would allow the largest UK tech company to be run by somebody from the US. They needed a reason to remove him. The failure of FAST gave them the excuse they required. He’s not hurting. He received a nice payout when they closed the deal to merge the two organizations.

I'm sorry I was with HP from 1994 "the good days" through 2011 were all of our product and pricing was moved off shore. Most of the WW Contracts Product and Pricing Team was all laid off except for maybe a handful of people in the bayarea but those who really knew SAP and how to fix issues in systems so contracts could flow were all gone. Suddenly they notice the folks in India where leaving in mass waves running to other companies in India paying them more. Light bulb goes over someone idiot at HQ; moved everything back from off shore and US will manage! WTF who is going to do all this work. I started doing less and less allowing escalations to start to happen etc. I was not going to kill myself any more after 3 pay reductions, stripped of any decent benefits and the fact there was only a handful of us left in the US. We were actually denied a $25 Xmas lunch since our team was WW we figure we get a few of us and go out at least once for the year and have nice lunch. Told nope!! cost cutting BS the same reason why everything was taken from employee room. Go to make a cup of coffee, sorry cost cutting but feel free to post team work slides on bullet board or anything else you would like to share. OMG I knew I had enough. I only waited around so I could go on unemployment, back then you stay on it for 2 years and packages were still OK and I did not want to leave money behind so when I finally got my WFR notice I was jumping for Joy.. I took my full 2 years off and found a great job with a pharmaceutical research company along the SF Peninsula mins from home no more sitting in freeway traffic. New company matches 401k up to 10K all kinds of paid time off for volunteering in community. The have excellent raises it was so long since I got a raise at HP the first year with my new company and they showed me everything I was getting in addition to a 6% increase, stock merit awards, gift cards etc. It was almost like I woke up in DisneyLand . I wish I had left HP sooner and forgot about the WFR package; I would have made that up 10x at my new Job!!! or well live and learn. RIP HP you were a good company until Carly and Michael Capellas from Compaq raped and burned through everything that made HP great plus all of it's money. I think Michael was about 6 month, finally asked to leave with about 60 million dollars of HP money, That's why these idiots love their mergers, only the top executives fill their accounts and leave companies and employee in shambles..

Fiorina destroyed the culture, Hurd destroyed the company.

" Carly gets the credit for where HPE is today."

CF was the beginning of the end for HP. MH took the controls after she was fired and proceeded to make things even worse, until he too was fired. HP used the s-x scandal as the smoke screen for firing him, but we all know that had the board been pleased with his performance they would have paid off the woman to keep her quiet. Simply amazing that LE hired MH. I guess it really is who you know that matters.

Yes MH (it is unlucky to even say his name) brought down the venerable company nurtured by Bill and Dave, and caused so much misery and hardship to all the employees except a handful of his cronies. He padded his own pockets and that of wall street types. He can only belong in the dustbin of history of this once company.

"Mark Hurd is what happened in 2005. It's been one hell of a mess ever since."

The transformation was well underway when Hurd got to HP. Carly gets the credit for where HPE is today.

I was with HP and then HPE for a very long time. I was terminated just prior to the micro-focus spin off. I'm sorry for some of my colleagues who were not as fortunate as I to be kicked out the door but I am glad to see some well deserved just deserts being served up now as the chickens come home to roost.

Going back to around 2005 I suppose, maybe sooner, but somewhere along the way HP and HPE completely dismissed the one principle by which companies succeed. Integrity.

Unable to organically develop a line of business, like a petulant immature spouse who envies the stability and success of other married couples, they seek the short cut to capture and have the elusive value of a stable, healthy and successful line of business only to find out they lack the character and maturity to sustain it because they fundamentally don't understand how it works, otherwise they would have done it for themselves.

HP and HPE began to prioritize over-engineering processes and practices of their acquisitions rather than simply look at what worked and what didn't. Then failing to perform due diligence in their acquisitions they blame everyone but themselves for their failures. They could and will never admit to the fact that they fundamentally have no idea what they're doing.

And finally, most people at HPE and now microfocus walk around with painted smiles pretending to be fully supportive of managements direction and vision yet somewhere deep inside they simply don't get it. . . why would a company create an environment that demoralizes employees, promotes mediocrity and demotivates a sales organization to perform? ... going back 15 years now... one thing... integrity...

Best wishes to my form colleagues now at micro focus and to my executive and senior colleagues ... learn to be honest with yourselves and others...

I just dumped my DXC and HPE Stock for now to a Money Market, until I do a Rollover of the HPE 401K. DXC was doing good, but I know it will no longer be at the end of this month.

The integration of IT systems and people was a disaster apparently. Tragic because some software products were actually good but not all.

I expect HPE getting sued over the "skunk in the bag" sale of the software assets for an inflated price.

Hsu was fired

Micro Focus said Hsu had “submitted his resignation in order to spend more time with his family”

This is a relatively quick turnaround of a chief exec, even in the world of tech. Maybe Hsu didn't like what he found. Maybe it was Micro Focus that pulled the plug. Maybe it was a combination of the two.

I've never seen anything like this. The stock has crashed so hard, it's erased all of the gains of the last five years of the bull market. That's an INSANE drop. I wonder if the other shoe is about to drop?

This is terrible, one after an other leaving. Really hope HPE-assets are safe. Doesn't sound Chris Hsu was all responsible for this decision.
