Thread regarding Anadarko Petroleum Corp. layoffs

APC Midland Geologists

Heard APC broke ground on their new office complex in Midland. Also, heard they’re short handed wrt geologists. Anyone here in the PB? Any idea on when APC is going to start approving geological positions for hire?

As a former employee, I would not recommend Anadarko as an employer.

The OP sounds sincere and while most of us on here are pretty embittered maybe someone has something useful to say? I’m not with APC anymore so, sorry to the OP, but I don’t have any good advice for you.

There are most likely plenty of APC geologists in the PB that would give up their job for you to backfill, only so they can escape the trash dump they call WTX. The problem is, they can't get a job elsewhere. Hence the reason they are still riding the sinking blue ship AND they accepted the relo to wonderful WTX on top of that!

We are currently trying to maintain a 1:1 geologist-to-tumbleweed ratio. Tumbleweeds must be within the Midland city limits for thirty minutes to count towards a geologist. As the wind continues to pick up in late March/early April, you can expect more job postings.
