Thread regarding University of Phoenix layoffs

Many of the former VPs, Directors, Managers, and top-performer reps are doing quite well after leaving UOP. Yes, there are some who are not, but the majority are doing quite well. In my opinion, the staff with a an enrollment background from UOP are in demand in the PHX area. They have a pretty good sales reputation. Yes, people will talk sh-- about this post, but UOP Enrollment put out some people with awesome phone skills and a solid sales acumen... and probably even more that s---ed, unfortunately. We hired a lot of sh-- just to be fully staffed to take QC back in "the day". However, whether it be RAMOPSR or SSP, it is in demand.

If you have STEM skills, and a STEM degree, go do STEM stuff. If you want to weld something, go weld it. Ask yourself... what skills do you have?

If you don't have any skills that are in demand, why wouldn't you try to be the best at what you do right now?

Hasn't it been proven by now that your complaints on this site do nothing? It changes nothing.

UOP is going down. Yup. That's truth. Are you going to blame the rest of your life on the time you spent at UOP?

Your choice.

Be a victim? Or one of the many of us that have done so much better since leaving?

(Yes, I am a former employee that still pays attention to this site because I have had so many great employees that still read this.)

"Your" is a possessive pronoun: You need to edit your work.

"You're" is the contraction for "you are": You're not acquainted with basic grammar rules, are you?

A comma splice occurs when a writer joins two independent clauses with just a comma between them. You cannot splice two sentences together with a comma. Learn some sentence boundaries.

A fused sentence occurs when you run two sentences together with no punctuation at all.

"S---" is not a word in need of censoring, so why the hyphens there? I don't understand. You could s--- on a Popsicle or on a straw.... There are a lot of things you could s--- on, Speaking Truth. I don't need to list them all, do I?

If you are going to insult people, at least do so properly. Otherwise, you undermine your credibility. Speaking Truth? Ha. Speaking half-baked crap.

Successful in life- I so agree with you. I left because of the pressure to do handle activities incorrectly. HR was not supportive even when everything was documented. Management/leadership at the university is a joke. It was a great place to work until about the last 5 years.

It’s hilarious to see managers and directors posting on here defending UoP. So out of touch with reality. Keep drinking that koolaid.

You must be one of those UOP graduate employees who got away with not using proper grammar during your (or is that you're) UOP courses. Figures! Good luck getting a job when you're (or is that your) dismissed from UOP. Recruiters and hiring managers actually do care about correct grammar and spelling. You're (or is that your) the fool who's (or is that whose) making a joke of your (or is that you're) point. We're not missing the point. We're laughing our a$$es off that you still can't get people to take your (or is that you're) point seriously.

Poster is a moron. Grammar people....grammar. And I don’t want to leave...yet. I like collecting an easy paycheck. And I like see your blood pressure go through the roof. LOL. But really, you don’t get it. I can leave and get the same paying job at another degree mill, but I am going to waste UOP resources, do a half a-- job, waste time, etc.... I feel like I am getting one up on UOP after all these years. For so many years they screwed employees so wasting their resources and collecting a nice paycheck, benefits and vacation time while doing as little as possible is what I enjoy doing to them. Not to mention, I love to be here when they collapse. Been here 12+ years and that day will put a big smile on my face!

Amen. It is because of you idiots that all of the good leaders left long ago. There are just a few left, and the quality employees know who they are. They won't be there for long. Think of all the good reps, managers, and directors that left on their own -- without layoffs. Those were the good ones, not you leftovers. Fleas. Whine whine whine. Probably a good recipe for your life.
