Take the money. Tell them what they want to hear. Show them what they want to see. (minimal effort only) and prepare for new career. Laugh behind their back and document ALL interactions positive and negative. If you are over forty document any and all references to your age.
Staples is the next ToyRUs . Read the stories . Look familiar? Of course they are . Read the details . The same ? Yes.
Underinvested in stores. Internet headwinds too strong. Leverage buyout didn’t work. Equity partners have no talent for running the business. Weak leadership.
I think we would all be better off if we invested our time in creating a career somewhere else.
A great deal of us are pretty good at what we do. We hung in there long enough. Probably time to go.
Some really nice people here who deserve something better.
Nothing lasts forever , this place shouldn’t last another year.
