Thread regarding Altice USA (Cablevision) layoffs

HR question

Just wondering if it's safe to approach HR with an issue relating to somebody a few levels above me?

Anybody had any dealings with them and can tell me if I should approach them or simply stay away to make sure I don't put a target on my own back?

Any info would be highly appreciated.

HR did jack squat to help me out my last couple months at CV. If anything the dingbat assisted in throwing me under the bus siding the corrupt piece of garbage (ex) manager and insulted and lied to me on my way out. Don't expect much from them, at the end of the day they're still pawns of management not a neutral party to help techs.

A Human Resources representative serves as an employee’s main point of contact for all Human Resources issues. Acting with the highest level of confidentiality permitted by the circumstances, your Human Resources representative will assist you by:

  • providing you with a timely response to questions or problems

  • serving as an employee advocate, especially in sensitive situations

  • ensuring prompt and accurate processing of personnel actions or status changes,

performance reviews, transfers, benefits and changes in employment or family status

Every Human Resources representative is kept up-to-date on current Company policies and practices and can provide you with a clear explanation of them at any time. We encourage each employee to develop an ongoing relationship with his or her Human Resources representative.

Document everything, dates, times , detailed conversations. HR is suppose to be neutral . Talk to a attorney as well . Just in case .

It's going to depend on how your being harassed. You need to keep record of what's going on and record the dates and time that it happened. The more descriptive you can be the better your case. If you just think you are overcome with work or being given crappy jobs etc you don't stand a fighting chance. If someone is calling you names and bullying you it's a different story.
