I’ve heard from several people that the 2018 bonus payout will not happen. Any truth to this? How could this even be the case when we’re just finishing up Q1, seems a bit premature.

Your bonus is being able to keep your miserable job.
I will refuse mine to help John redo his kitchen and add an Olympic size underground pool to his vacation home.
Go John go!
Really, just go!
Well Devon sure does use it as a recruitment tool. Uncle Sam also considers it as part of your compensation package. Half the people saying “ live in your means” likely don’t get a bonus in Devon. It’s sort of like the stock awards, only certain people get it as a retainment tool.
I gots mines.
Sheeple! A good chunk of your income should come from your bonus at an E&P, it's a commodity business and a bonus should reflect the business cycle. The swings are huge, layoffs in the bad times, huge bonuses in the good. Nothing is a gift when working for a corporation.
We got them in 2016 after the layoff, just sayin.
I got mine
I agree 1ddf. A bonus is not a birthright. If it was guaranteed, it wouldn't be called a bonus. You should live within your paycheck. If you get a bonus, then go buy that new bass boat.
Bonus in 2018? Remember to embrace change :)
Nope, worked at places that never offered anything in compensation besides a paycheck. Work within those means and if you get a bonus, good for you. But thinking you have a right to a bonus is pure folly.
Wow you sound like one of the suits upstairs with your “Its a gift, not a right” mantra. Just keep your head down and do your job, right? I’m surprised you didn’t qoute one of the attributes you douc@! Bag. You better damn well believe I consider my bonus as part of my compensation package.
Why is this even a driving force for you? Bonus is always considered a gift, not a right.
S--- it up buttercup, you're in for a bumpy ride if thats all your thinking about.
