Expect more layoffs in SDS. Staples IT budget was roughly 3 times higher than Coke's and delivered medoicre results at best. So much bloat due to the foolish belief that we needed to build everything ourselves.
Is this just guessing or was there really some indication that more layoffs are coming to IT?
Subscribing to any hosted service or buying commercial software plus annual maintenance fees is generally very costly. But you’re right that we shouldn’t be building home-grown apps that are ridiculously expensive to maintain especially when using offshore resources with high turnover. Wish someone in leadership had figured that out years ago!
ya - unfortunately no need to build tools from ground up , when u can often just subscribe to a service for a minor fee. quicker and cheaper
That was my post and it is speculation based on the facts I presented and the pretty much universal disappointment with the work product coming from SDS.
