Thread regarding ADP layoffs

How many accepted the early retirement offer?

Not sure if we will find out how many retirement packages were accepted but they said in the 8K filing that they needed at least 3500, if under that there will be additional cuts for sure.

Do we have any indications on how many people accepted the package, though? I understand there will be no official announcement, but there must be some estimates circling around.

I got the 6/1 date. It has nothing to do with client facing or not. It is all about the numbers. The most senior associates (higher salary) appear to be going earlier than others. My group was hit hard. Whatever the final numbers are, they were not expecting so many to take the offer. I am hearing 65% - 75% took the offer. I know that managers are scrambling to figure out how to make this work. I only know of a few that did not take the offer. They were either in the 55 - 62 year old group or they have kids to put through school. I wish them the best. Once the dust settles I bet that there will be more layoffs. ADP stock is doing well, so they will continue to squeeze everything they can out of the associates. SLA's do not appear to be important any longer. If the clients don't push back, then it will be business as usual.

Tomorrow is the first round for the ERP folks. Anyone have any idea how many are leaving?

I too rec'd the Oct 5th date with the same rhetoric about the date. With so much knowledge leaving on June 1, and yet more reporting structure changes I would assume to be announced next week and beyond, I am betting come Oct this may get extended. Don't forget year end is right around the corner from 10/05. Whatever, the longer I work the more they continue to fund my monthly pension and the bigger payout at the end due to longer tenure...

Was just told by Manager my retirement date is October. But was also told that could also change depending on the Business Unit needs. So guess they will string you along if they need bodies.

I have heard that "most" individual contributors will be 6/1. I'm sure that there will be exceptions to that.

I heard that June 1st is the first release date for early retirement and the majority will go in that round. Then August 1st, October 1st and March 1st.

I did not take the offer. I do not have the years of service that many people my age at ADP have. It just did not make sense when I crunched the numbers. I am happy for those that did. I think it will be hard over the next few months as you are asked to do more and more as people exit. Congratulations Carlos, when the clients exit maybe you will have a wake up call.

I took the offer the week it was offered. I still can't understand why some of my coworkers did not....just a few did not. They actually think ADP is going to keep them employed until they retire.

They are so wrong and I feel very sorry for them.

I started at ADP in 1991 and back then it was a great company. Now I am happy to leave the worst Fortune 500 in America and it all started with the current CEO back in 2011. Since then I have seen dozens of good, loyal workers let go with just serverance pay and COBRA. This ER was done to speed up the overall ADP future plan...... which has ruined thousands of people's careers, family plans, retire plans, etc. etc. I'm near retirement so it's not that bad but what about the 55-62 year old folks. They are going to struggle at that age to get a well paying, good benefits job again.

I know past ADP workers who were let go 2011-2017 and they actually had to sell their homes, go into huge debt to keep the kids grad school college costs down, take two part time jobs ,just to make ends meet! Their health has been effected because of all the stress...some had to move out of state because NJ cost-of-living is so high......ADP is a human tragedy!

The word is that around 2500 took the package. ADP was expecting, and had planned for, 1000. Too late for ADP to retract the offer.

Whats really sad is to see people leaving after they have devoted their lives to ADP. How many have made sacrifices in their personal lives, their families, vacations and worked many overtime hours to work one more more client to meet bottom line. 30+ years ago it was a GREAT company to work for, but the last 5-7 yrs there seems to be a huge shift in company dynamics and focus. There are so many management levels that they tend to run skeleton in depts that service the client. It will be interesting to see how many actually take the package and what impact it will have on the company.

For those of you that opted for the early retirement, I would start packing. 1st round of retirements will happen on 6/1 and that will be the majority of the people that opt'd to take the package. In some areas there was over 50% that opt'd to take the package. For those of the people that remain and are not in a one location, all I can say is prepare.

Does ADP have a death wish? Does it deliberately want to go out of business?

It is scary if they think that they can survive based on the inept decisions that they have made. Very scary.

No contingency plan is in place for departments hit hard by ERP employees who leave. There is concern my department will simply close and responsibilities be taken over by another division which means laying off 10--all of which have been with ADP a minimum of 18-30 years. Clients will suffer and become detractors and flee. ADP does not care about associates like it enjoys portraying itself internally and externally. The annual associate survey was done last month. Surely Sr. Leadership (Doug, Jan, Debbie, Doug, etc.) were hit hard with low numbers, but no one cares and nothing is done. I've never seen changes as a result of the survey.

That really tells you what employees think about ADP. No one has faith or trust in the company anymore. It is best to take what you can and restart your life elsewhere.

ADP will now have a whole legion of ex-employees who will be detractors. I would not recommend ADP’s product to my worst enemy.

I've heard they were getting more takers than they anticipated but no final numbers yet. Maybe there is hope for the leftovers.

The offer was made to 3500 Associates 55 + and with 10+ years of service, they were hoping for 35% or greater to accept the ERP.
