Why isn’t everyone told about upcoming union meetings? Why is a deep dark secret? Don you want everyone informed or just the easily impressionable? Kinda seems that way.

Sorry didn't proof read it before I posted. Yes 110 to 90 in the plant. Not all guys in ibew work on hot stuff either as I stated with the data guys. Plus if your working plant you may work in the breaker doing electrical work if that part of the panel takes a hit or something. I personally think IBEW is a much better option compared to CWA. For all the guys on the project it wouldn't be a bad idea to unionize as fiber splicing is something that they use in high speed data centers and it pays much better than what a bbt 2 or 3 gets paid.

87 volts isn't what we work with but there are still IBEW guys in the local that do low voltage data work. They run and splice the wire. Also some of Verizon is IBEW. Do your homework before you mock signing with IBEW.
None of the leadership my ibew local are electricians. They were elected from the membership. Just like the cwa.
As a Verizon FiOS tech definitely doing better than a Cablevison tech. Per hour , Pension, Health, Dental, Vision benefits. Vacation and Holidays. The Cablevison techs that came over to work at Verizon are happy to made the move.
