Thread regarding Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) layoffs

Project "Summer" hast started in EMEA - GSD Outsourcing to Hemmersbach

The US is already executing on transferring the field support force to Unisys. Now EMEA is following suit. In EMEA the GSD field customer engineers are transferring to Hemmersbach, in those countries that do not have a CDS entity (wholly owned HPE low cost subsidiary).

Affected employees will be transferred to Hemmersbach. If they refuse to this transfer, then it has the effect that this is legally considered in a way that the employee has terminated her employment contract herself. The affected employees have therefore no chance to get WFR'ed with a severance package.

Problem is that Hemmersbach has in many EMEA countries a very low employer reputation rating in portals such as Glassdoor dot com or kununo dot com. According to comments on before mentioned portals, the company management seems to be a nightmare and the pay and benefits are very low.

@ST0Bn5G-woup We're hearing the same thing in the US. We have reached mediocrity.

As an Hpe engineer we got many feedback from our customers who are worried and disappointed if Hpe planning to outsource there GSD staff.

They tell us :

Why should I continue to buying Hpe equipment ?

This was one of the reasons I still use Hpe equipment .

I want to take away some of the concerns here: I was a technician at HPI and recently moved to Hemmersbach. Hemmersbach also accepted my severance pay entitlement as required by the European ARD law.

I am wondering about the rating portal argument as Hemmersbach has been awarded by Kununu as one of the best employers in 2017 based on the rating.

I have found a new home as field service is their only business and my skills are appreciated. Therefore, I can only say that the change has been positive for me so far.

So if HPE are not expanding CDS across EMEA, how long has CDS got left?

As for the question above, EU countries have some protection in regards of this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transfers_of_Undertakings_Directive_2001

There will leglislation in each country around workers rights. I don't think you are entitled any choice with severance, or joining the new company, but my knowledge is tiny

We were told the same thing in the US - the only way we were eligible for severance is if Unisys didn't give us an offer. I am one of those who didn't get an offer, but there has been no official communication if we are actually receiving any tangible severance.

I strongly question the legality of how your choice of employment at one company can deny you severance at another. Maybe someone wiser than me can chime in?
