Of course the "IT" that is provided will be very poor.
We see systems failing all the time and in almost every instance
it is because some Prasad or Rak**** is the one who is the "administrator" of the
system... They are constantly breaking things at all hours of the day (and night).
Citrix is another good example. They rolled this out last year, forcing all work
off the users local PC's to Citrix. Unfortunately they did not plan it out well at all.
It was totally slopped together, making administration difficult for users requiring
access to different sets of applications, and they did not allocate enough hardware
for the number of concurrent users. Citrix constantly freezes up, disconnects, and
in many instances you cannot reconnect for long periods of time.
All of this results in actual work not getting done.
And this is just the administration and infrastructure.... When it comes to actual
software development, that is another completely separate horror story.
Anyone who remains and is competent sees this.
