Thread regarding Devon Energy Corp. layoffs

Are you sure it's today?

Husband just left for work and I couldn't tell who was more nervous, him or me. He seems convinced today is the day even if he couldn't tell me why he was so certain.

Judging by posts here he might have been right but I still can't see why people are so convinced it's today. From what I understood previously it's not supposed to happen before next week. What changed?

Has to be done before earnings call next Tuesday. Won't do this Friday or next Monday, so... only thing left is today, tomorrow, and Thursday.

So much confusion. Way to go leadership! Thumbs up for transparency and communication.

Kind of like someone below said, there were at least 14 people laid off last Thursday (that I know of), the majority of those being in HR. Based on that, I would think the big one is happening this week, although there could be another round of small ones this week and then the majority of the 300 next week. Who knows but I’m sick of waiting. Just do it already.

Dvn IT doesn't know how to manage credentials. There are spreadsheets on strata that let you see who gets laid off that day. They've been around since the 2016 layoff and haven't gotten locked down yet.

where did you hear next week. My department hasnt said didly squat about estimated times, at all. Except the first day, said it would be expedited quickly. HR and wellness let some go last Thursday, assuming after all packages were finalized. So, speculatiion based on that its this week. But who knows, definitely not being as transparent as they said!
