Qualcomm in the last few years became a company that is full of VPs and Senior Directors who are as far away from modern technology as someone starting high school. Their main job is to keep engineers below them busy with mindless tasks like filling spread sheets and filing CRs for the KPIs. Consequently these people have also became rather unattractive to the job market. Qualcomm is probably one of the worst high tech companies when it come to caring about continuing education of its engineers and this brought it to where it is now, namely a third tier engineering company that needs protection from the government to stay afloat. As a small example when Irwin was the CEO every engineer had the right to go to one professional conference per year.

QC will shut down soon, just a matter of time. Its like Nokia repeating again. Please find a job elsewhere as soon as you can who hold a job currently.
You guys should complain to one of the major shareholders and have the CEO ousted. Then throw out all extra VPs and Senior Directors. Only then can Qualcomm be saved.
I bet this was not the case until 4-5 years ago. Due to pending acquisition projects are getting stalled or ridiculous projects are running just to keep the org busy. Probably a lot reorg is happening. Every 2-3 months a new manager.
These are bad signs of upcoming layoffs. Company is waiting until the acquisition. During this time such things happen.
Well said, OP. QCA has so many useless Principals - Sr. Directors. And, big chunk of Sr. Staffs don't deserve their title. As another post said, Q has accumulated lot of fat. Part of the reason for Q's current situation.
The top priority of many QC managers is to hide their ignorance.
