The Devon you loved will be gone the day you are given your walking papers. It wont be Devon you miss but all the smart people. There is something special about working with them you may never find again.

You will find more intelligence and diversity of opinion wherever you go after Devon.
I'm retired for several years from the O&G business. Indeed, you will find some very smart people in the O&G business, but it's the decisions they make that matter. Some really smart and sometimes personable people lack common sense and can often not be on the same page with the goals. No matter where you might land after this job, you will find smart people. It's the decisions that matter. You don't have to be the smartest to make good decisions. Often times that's where "experience" comes into play. A lot of experience has left the O&G business in the last few years.
