500 laid off

A meeting this morning was held off-site at the Morgantown Marriott. 500 were laid off. Sad, but expected.

They are increasing the IT staff in India - hiring over 150 contractual staff there.

I agree!! I believe the plant will be closed within 5 years. They are letting good, hard working employees go that have been with the company for years. All of the news reports keep saying how union and non-union supervisors were laid off, but I'm here to tell you that's not entirely correct. I was an office worker getting paid hourly, and not earning anything near what a supervisor makes. I was with them for 9 years and good at my job. HR told me my position was no longer needed! Then why was I always overwhelmed with my daily duties? So my reasoning for I why I believe that Mylan will be closed in 5 years is due to the higher ups not knowing what their employees do, keeping the ones that kiss their asses and letting go of the ones that actually work and get things done.

What makes you think the plant will be closed by the end of 2019?

First of many layoffs. Plant to be closed by the end of 2019. All should be looking for new jobs

A large group of hard working IT workers were let go in the spring of 2015... This tells you a lot. If they do not want to spend money on quality IT, things will never end up good.
