Over the last few weeks we have been preparing for our separation from Altice NV and taking steps to structure the organization to reflect that of an independent company. Today, I’d like to share some updates on those efforts as we keep you informed throughout the process.
CEO Team Organization
As an independent company, we will have a heightened focus on governance, compliance and ethics, as well as other legal considerations. As such, it is important that our Legal department have a direct reporting relationship to the CEO office and David Connolly will now report to me. Similarly, as the regulatory and legislative landscape continues to change and our dealings with government, political and business stakeholders as an independent company evolves, the Government and Community Affairs department led by Lee Schroeder will also report to me.
Finance Team Organization
Once separate, our dealings with the investment community, shareholders and Wall Street will become more important than ever. Therefore, we have expanded Charlie Stewart’s finance organization and created an Investor Relations group, which will be led by Nick Brown who will join us this month from Altice NV where he has led IR at the global level. Nick and the AUSA investor relations team will report to Charlie and will work closely with all of the management team as they have done in the past year and a half.
Commitment to News
Given the state of the news business in today’s society, the value of our news offerings has never been greater. Therefore, in an effort to align common activities and better ensure we’re delivering the content and information consumers want, we have created a dedicated News division which will report to Charlie.
Leading our Altice USA News business, which includes News 12 and the U.S. division of i24NEWS, will be Michael Schreiber, now EVP and President of Altice USA News. Mike will partner closely with Frank Melloul, CEO of i24NEWS, who will continue to lead the news organization globally. Mike and Frank will both report to Charlie. Pat Dolan will serve as Senior Network Advisor to News 12 and will continue to play an important and strategic role in the exciting evolution of News 12.
We are incredibly proud of the success of our news networks, with News 12 being the most watched channel in the Optimum footprint, and i24NEWS continuing to expand its reach and becoming a reliable source of news in the U.S. and around the world. Creating a News division enables us to invest further in this category and focus on the ongoing development of our high-quality news offerings, enhancing our brand awareness and growing our audiences.
Over the coming days, these leaders will be communicating in more detail to their respective groups.
