First, my thoughts and prayers go out to all the families affected by this! I was let go during the 2016 debacle, and I hate it that some of my friends and many other good people have been going to a job everyday that they can't trust because Devon doesn't understand how a business should be ran. It is a miserable way to live waiting for the hammer to drop. I think the best way to turn the tables, and prove the point, that no one deserves to be treated like garbage, is for those who make it through the cut immediately start looking for a new career. A place that you can be proud to work for (or at least not have to worry about everyday could be your last). I promise there is life outside of Devon - I landed a great job that truly cares and shows appreciation for my contribution to the company, and everyone else still at at Devon can too! Wouldn't it be great if Devon started losing employees at such a rate that every group ceased to function worth a damn. Maybe the Big Heads up stairs would realize that they are getting exactly what they created (they are probably too stupid to, but it's a nice thought). I mainly just want to say that now is great time to take back control of your life, and see what else the world has to offer. I promise that there is life away from Devon, where you get all the same "perks " bit you don't have to go to work everyday seeing worthless leaders standing around wearing $3000 suits waiting for people to walk up them to shake their hands like their $h!t doesn't stink (which it doesn't smell as bad as their souls do. Please don't let them negatively affect your life any longer. Get your resume together, and see what's out there, I swear there are way more jobs than you think (at least in my field of work). We need to make Devon remember that the employees can make or break the company, and no matter how many piss poor decisions the "Leaders" make, you are the ones that allow the business to operate - and wouldn't it be great to watch the ship (or the big D!(k in the sky) sink! I truly wish the best for all the good workers there, and I wish Devon would get what it deserve due to the unbelievably poor decision those millionaire baboons have made over the past 5 years or so!!
Good luck, I feel your pain, and know that it will be hard over these next few weeks to get out of bed and go to work when you know you could be walking in for your last time. Also, don't feel like it is your fault if you don't make this cut. Performance doesn't not come into to play in the decision making - that would just make too much sense. Instead, know your worth and find a company that will treat you like you are worth something!!
