Thread regarding Advance Auto Parts Inc. layoffs

Low end employees

When a company is only willing to offer minimum wage part time positions, they are going to attract low end employees. Advance not doing back ground checks or drug tests anymore was a clear sign the company was only looking to save payroll dollars and not invest in their people anymore. The "best part is our people" no longer applies, what is "best for the higher ups and stock holders" short term is the new motto.

Couldn't agree more with @Sx5Jg3k-8yom. The level of new employees at AAP is disgraceful now. And then they wonder why we are doing worse and worse.

I see AAP finally decided to hire a new Manager for Labor Modeling in corporate office. The previous manager had no experience in that type of role and was more than likely given the manager job because they filled a gender box as female. Thank goodness that was fixed! I am rooting for you AAP, but stop your nonsense and get back to selling parts.

The turnover is high because once the newly trained GM gets a store and realizes how many hours are being put in for the salary given the pay is around $10.00 per hour, simply not worth having the position. The company baits the newbies with the promise of unobtainable bonuses that never happen.

Says a lot about a company that cranks out new trainees like that. Maybe the lack of quality training is contributing to the high turnover rate. Job security for the instructors.

Another 50 plus store managers graduating this week. This company just don't get it. 50 plus new managers every other week. What's wrong with this picture?

There is a direct correlation between compensation and competency. When you see turnover rates at nearly 60%, you can see that the hiring practices only require a pulse and transportation to work. When you pay at the bottom the bottom dwellers are abundant...and that is evident at AAP.
