I just went to the link ...no surprise the San Ramon - Digital folks are north of $150k per year..hence the reason GE is does not know the what the heck they are doing and looking to get out of that business. That may be the going rate in that region but GE leadership has no appetite to be paying that salary for very long to individual contributors. That digital division must be bleeding money. Immelt got the wool pulled over his eyes. Why does GE leadership think they can be a Google, Amazon or some successful digital company? GE leadership can barely turn on a computer. They can sure pick out a loss on a P&L statement and right size the issue away. Best of luck to GE Digital lets see how much longer that business will be in existence.

There are plenty of SPBs getting paid $140k, and probably some getting a bit more than that. If you're not getting enough, maybe you should have negotiated better when you were hired. Don't blame the messenger.

I made $230k with some nice bonuses and was at work half the time. GE is the best job ever. They make great products and treat their employees like GOLD!

The short answer is yes we are underpaid and the H1B's are being paid more than many of the US citizen salaried employees.

There's always some idiot who claims they make 140k, or whatever, but the reality is they're unemployed with no qualifications, no life and no prospects. These losers can only pretend they have a job as they sit alone punching nonsense on their keyboard all day.

So dude, that means you are one of the buddy system "do nothings" making more than what you should while the intelligent ones are in corners and can't look up being paid pathetically.... Then again those pulling your weight are not down on their knee pads.....they are too busy ...

And now folks we have the real reason the ship is sinking

Dude I make 140K - as an SPB in a project management role - maybe do 2-3 days of real work per week, my boss who is an EB does even less. Its pretty cake.

I'm staying.

H1B are being used to help GE on it’s diversity metrics and so not only are we underpaid but it is being done at the same time to take a job from a us citizen.

GE does a good job of keeping our pay low.

Yes, according to that information I am being significantly underpaid. Does that mean I'm safe from layoffs at least?

umm GE has ALWAYS underpaid their salaried workforce. The idea was "oh you work for The Supreme Leader GE" so that's a benefit.
