Mark Templeton joins Workspot board

Isn't workspot competitive to citrix? How can our execs allow Mark to do this?

"Mark brings a distinguished track record of success and vision to the Workspot team and will help the company build on its efforts to provide organizations with simplified, best-in-class desktop cloud services. During Mark's 20-year tenure as Citrix's CEO, the company transformed into one of the most globally recognizable brands. Since his retirement from Citrix in 2015, he's continued to demonstrate his expertise through his work on several boards of directors and as an adviser to early-stage companies"

Mark is a secret agent. He got Workspot in trouble with a lawsuit.

Got Dhawan out at VMware.

He is clearing all the hurdles to help Citrix get back on track.

Mark joining the board probably shook up the Citrix ELT a bit. He still has a good reputation with customers.

Patent trolling is how many companies make money. It is too expensive to fight a patent lawsuit so people settle. If you want to understand how Patent trolling works just watch the documentary called The Patent Scam, https://www.thepatentscam.com/.

Is there a link to the lawsuit? Workspot doesn't look anything like XD/XA. Is engineering consulted for these lawsuits or do we pay big dollars to legal because they have no other work

Yes, Mark has done a great job on the boards he sits on. Look at Equifax, the data-leaking company, for instance. https://www.thestreet.com/amp/story/14299086/1/equifax-board-faces-scrutiny-following-cyberattack.html

Citrix is a dying patent troll. They abuse the system by getting patents on concepts. Citrix has not innovated anything in years.

Lame.

Citrix is preventing their customers from utilizing better software since they can't innovate.

well lets be honest.

there is no innovation left at Citrix. Its just recycling 5 year old concepts with a new package, then attempt to re-patent them under a new name and now sue anybody that is a competitive thread. Citrix is just running on fumes and trying to get to the $100 share price before crashing. In any case this is just another example of the racism that pervades the Citrix executive board. Take the case of:

Workspot CEO = Amitabh Sinha

Avi Networks CEO = Amit Pandey

So really, why does CItrix only attempt to bully companies where the CEO is an Indian or immigrant. There have been many other instances of white CEOs clearly infringing on Citrix ideas but nothing happened to their companies. Citrix will not touch the companies with white CEOs. Yes smart executives like Amit Pandey and Amitabh left this legacy Citrix company to find more meaningful endeavors.

It just goes to show the underlying racism of the Citrix executives from the good ole southern boys club of south Florida. Typical racist Citrix Floridiot clowns trying to bully the brown man.

Just say no and push back.

Just like Avi.. i don't think we win by using a lawsuit. It sends a signal to the market that we have no way to beat them in the market:

Lol. Citrix will be dead because of internal politics and incompetency. Vendors like Workspot can't do anything to change that.

Mark Templeton will get his revenge by beating Citrix with a startup!

How many customers are on the Citrix cloud? I keep hearing it's our future but no numbers are shared.

I just looked at their website. This service is what Citrix should have done. Maybe it's what Citrix would have done if the ELT and EM had not booted Mark. It is obvious that they looked at the Citrix model and fixed all that is broken with it.

Workspot is providing desktop as a service where everything is on Azure. They include the cost of Azure. They deploy it for you. They have a flat rate subscription and a trial period and a cancellation policy. They offer operational components like load balancing as micro services that can be a part of the inital setup. Their service can be setup in a day. They have a workstation feature using GPUs.

With Citrix you just get the management part in the Citrix Cloud. You still have to deploy the Citrix VDA components either in your DC or in Azure and connect them. With Citrix you have to sort out virtual servers you need from Azure, set them up and pay for them. With Citrix you have to sign up for a multi-year contract. With Citrix you have to go to the Azure market place and get your NetScaler and do a full configuration. With Citrix even using their Cloud it will take weeks to setup. Citrix does not have a workstation feature.

In short the Citrix Cloud is not really a cloud at all. It's just a hosted management platform.
