You’re laid off? Can someone describe the process of walking the employee out to me? Who calls? What do they let you bring from your desk? Do they let you sign your paperwork right away? Just want to make sure I’m ready thanks

A really big hint is if you have train some person from india how to do your job, start packing you desk immediately.
What about insurance? End of month?
There are no hard and fast rules. They give you exactly as much as it takes to make it not worth your while to sue.
What determines where in the two-weeks-to-one-year you fall?
Severance package range anywhere from two weeks to one month per year of service.
To the person who posted below me, could you please find something else to do? The adults want to have a discussion here. Thanks.
Is there a standard algorithm for severence packages?
Make no mistake, getting laid off s---s. Especially for those in their 40's and 50's. If you had a good professional network it's a little easier to find employment, but there's no guarantees.
What happens when laid off? After a week you wake up and relize how lucky you are to have escaped from the ridiculousness of Enbridge- Saftey this lessons learned that! Butt head midmanagers that could find the pipeline to save their life are no longer asking you to fill out insane forms for the 1000 time!! Free at last free at last, Pray you get a buyout and escape this form of harassment!!!
I can concur with what's been said. They let you keep your phone if you want, but your contacts are wiped remotely and you are disconnected from the email system almost immediately after being walked out.
Export your contacts to a separate file if you don't want to lose them. Copy your personal info from your computer. Keep minimal personal items at the office.
Copy anything personal off your computer right now. You will not be allowed to access it again and they will not copy it for you.
You have to mail the agreement back and somebody needs to witness your signature. They have it down to a science.
Thanks. Very helpful. I thought I had heard that they forbid you from signing the letter right away, so was curious if that was true or not. Would rather not have to return to deliver later.
You'll receive a phone call from either HR or your PL. It'll be from a meeting room, or breakout room, typically not on your floor and it'll usually be in the morning if it's part of a mass layoff.
What you bring with you to that room is all you're going to get to leave with, unless you left your jacket/wallet/keys at your desk. If that's the case, then HR or your PL will go back to your desk and retrieve them. They don't want your exit disrupting others around, and they want to avoid any confrontation so you won't be allowed back in the office.
If you feel you have a high likelihood of being laid off, you should clean your desk out of anything of personal value or that you want. This way if you're in the room you can tell them not to send you anything from your desk, you're already packed.
You won't have to sign any paperwork right away, but Enbridge does offer generous packages so it's unlikely you will get anything more, and you'll likely be wasting your money consulting a lawyer.
