Thread regarding Devon Energy Corp. layoffs

Will age play a role again?

Just wondering if we will once again see an overwhelming number of people in their late forties and early fifties dominate the layoffs list?

It has been the case so far, some of the best people were shown the door in every layoff so far, so I don't see why it would suddenly change. Not as if we suddenly got better management or plaything.

Does a cat have a tail? So, a lot of older 50s had come to Devon from previous companies. Less than 10 years at Devon. They did not get accelerated retirement.

Just the boot.

Any attorney worth their salt can get through the signing. No signing can defeat a class action lawsuit.

If you read this and you were let go...fight it. Do not sign the package until an attorney reads every word. They discriminate based on age, despite all the shiny EEO propaganda on the website.

I was around last time and was not aware that the “vast majority” of people in their 59s got excelerated retirement.

But to answer the OP, many “older” people that I’ve spoken to here have mentioned they’re afraid of being let go due to their age- because of what happened in 2016. I guess we’ll find out next week.

Well if you actually were around last time and not just a troll you’d know that the vast majority of the older crowd received excelerated retirement. Man of which asked for it.
