Thread regarding Devon Energy Corp. layoffs

Laying off veterans

So let me guess, this time we'll see even more veterans laid off?

For a company that touts being veteran friendly, Devon certainly has no issues showing us the door when it wants to save a few bucks and employ cheaper employees with no experience to replace us.

I managed to avoid being cough in the last round, but I'm pretty sure this time I'll be on the list.

Hypocrisy of the highest order.

I looked through the list of people let go in 2016, no names just where they worked and age. Most of them were over 50 those are the ones that need to worry

I was caught in the last go-round and they sure did like touting my veteran status. Even had a meeting with Sandusky himself as a result of my being a veteran and him wanting to have one-on-one's with various employees. They hired us because of our attention to detail and our work ethic, that's why we got a supposed leg up on other candidates, but yes, we are the first to go out the door. I made 167k/year with bonus and they kept the 90k folks . Good luck with that.
