What are your thoughts about this reconstruction? Where do you think the reduction of 20 positions will come from?
When will the bleeding end?
What are your thoughts about this reconstruction? Where do you think the reduction of 20 positions will come from?
When will the bleeding end?
Who cares!?
Reductions will probably be mostly people leaders

It's actually refreshing to see some honesty from the top. I'm going to hate to see more of my friend on the street looking for a job.
As noted before. If your over 50 have your stuff ready to go. They will give you your old phone but all the contacts will be erased.
This will be big changes, these groups have been very separate across the business units. Get ready for more PROcess in the US
I don't think you should be posting detailed emails in here.
The info Big Al gave was vague, to say the least. But yes, as understand it, they’re roeorganizing everybody from those areas into one large group:
“Sent to all Enbridge team members
In keeping with my commitment to open communication, I want to tell you about the upcoming centralization in May of Enbridge's safety and reliability team.
As you know, safety and reliability is our number one priority. Safety is the foundation on which we have built Enbridge, is a foundation of our culture and a core value. Consistent with this priority and to sustain and further enhance our industry leading safety performance and strong safety culture, we are establishing a centralized safety and reliability team serving Liquids Pipelines, Major Projects and Gas Transmission & Midstream. Gas Utilities & Power Operations will continue to manage safety under its existing organizational structure while the Ontario Energy Board considers Enbridge’s application to amalgamate the utilities.
Creating one cohesive safety and reliability team will help drive improved performance as the organization grows. Enbridge has been moving towards a more centralized approach to safety and other services for many years, including extensive collaboration between the business units and through our integration work since the merger with Spectra. By implementing common systems, common governance and leveraging leading practices, we have strengthened the direct line of sight to safety and reliability at every level of the organization, from the front lines to the Executive Leadership Team and Board. Bill Yardley’s integration of three separate businesses into the new Gas Transmission & Midstream business unit following the merger is a good example of how bringing safety groups together can further bolster safety and reliability and make our business more effective.
Centralizing our safety professionals under one umbrella will ensure that we apply the best in safety standards, policies and practices in a consistent manner across the organization and in the most effective way. It will also make it easier for us to share and implement effective safety practices and lessons learned across the organization, achieving the business units’ desire for greater clarity and support in delivering on their responsibility for the safety and reliability of their operations, which they will continue to be accountable for.
The Environment and Lands & ROW groups have been included in this new centralized organization because these functions provide services to the same internal customers and external stakeholders, who will benefit from a common structure and service delivery model. Additionally, these areas are the face of Enbridge to some of our most important stakeholders when it comes to safety and reliability.
The new team, Safety & Reliability (S&R), will report up to Byron Neiles, EVP Corporate Services, and be led by Mike Koby, VP Safety & Reliability. The team will include employees in the Safety, Environment, Enterprise Safety & Operational Reliability (ESOR) and Lands & Right of Way functional areas. We will announce the full details of the team’s structure in May when the new organization will take effect. At this point, we expect that centralization of the team will result in the reduction of 20 positions. These reductions will be communicated to affected employees when the new structure comes into effect in May.
Finally, one of the things we’ve learned about centralizing critical skills through the integration process is that we need to make sure we are being open and transparent: talking about what’s behind the change and how it will impact our peoples’ jobs and opportunity going forward.
The first part of that is a full Q&A list that is linked here. From there I have asked Mike Koby and the people leaders within these functions to meet with each of the teams and individuals affected to ensure a smooth and effective transition.
Thank you for the active role you play in making our company a leader in safety and reliability.
Al Monaco
President and CEO”
I’ve been gone for a while from Enbridge but still check this site every now and then. Are they combining all the environmental, safety, and ROW staff from all business units into one group? Eliminating staff in specific offices?
MK: what 500 are you referring to?
For MK- The layoff of these 20 folks is probably not going to be relevant to other potential reductions in force elsewhere in the company. I wouldn't be breathing any sighs of relief over this announcement.
At least announcement today has given everyone who is not apart of that group of 500 a little more time. But now 20 of that group have to wait for the hammer to drop sometime in May.
