Execs called the teams into the breakroom and broke the news about our site closing this morning. They have some BS reasons about profitability, long term sustainability, what’s right for the business blah blah blah. Then HR has “booths” set up for individual severance reviews/outplacement service info/COBRA info throughout the day (based on our tenure). Emotions ran pretty high. Sad day.

Its been shady management practices for years in Atlanta. I can believe it they lose so much money on discrimination lawsuits that shareholders are funding it. Lets not forget about the union that was formed that staples lawyers had to pay off the teamsters.
Hmmmm I was at work all day yesterday and even sit outside one of our top “exces” office and I heard nothing of Maitland being closed! Weird since I work at Maitland and went into the cafeteria several times yesterday. I’m gonna call bs!
very sad good luck to everyone effected
this site proves that it is an utter waste of time
ha ha. another management type trying to keep the serfs bamboozled long enough to resell to the next slavemaster.
.
Yet again this site proves that it is an utter waste of time and filled with twisted individuals who take pleasure in the pain of others.
The poster is pretty specific titling the post “Maitland layoffs in progress”. However it would seem we would be hearing more, if something this big had actually occurred.
This website absolutely s---s and people that lie on it need mental help. Sh-- is bad enough without the intentional fiction.
Good guess douche
They must be confusing this with the Daytona office (formally Capital Office Supply)
This is happening in Florida, but not the Maitland office. You have your sites mixed up.
It would be pretty sick for someone to make this up and to go into such specific details. I am sure we will know soon enough if it is true!
LOL where did this happen a private meeting in the bathroom? Nothing like this has happened today. Must have your sites mixed up
Unfortunately may had previously said this on this site. So many people saying “no way”. I had previously commented that as a person in a Corp leadership position for 20+ yrs I didn’t even know about the site. Sad for sure. NO ONE is safe... writing is on the wall. If you continue at Staples you run the risk (and you accept) this happening directly to you.
I don't see any of that happening here...?
"they'll never close Maitland".
yeah, okay. you guys just don't get it yet.
When is this happening?
