And posts comments pretending to be a regular employee. They will always post overly positive comments and attack anyone who doesn't tow the corporate line. They hate this site because it destroys their BS corporate speak and exposes what's really going on at the company.

March 1st at noon the deadline to submit your buyout request, then March 6th the last day to rescind that request and past the 6th on the 8th the exodus begins. Got my Old Crow and popcorn handy and ready for the smell of exhaust out of the corporate parking lot! Remember, St. Patty's Day is approaching for those who had their buyouts accepted, but asked to stay on beyond the 8th Irish Whiskey for all! Good luck people!
Interesting how their handling those of us who optioned out the 3/1 deadline. Some are being let go ASAP others asked or should I say required to stay later dates for the severance option to be paid out.
Now ask yourself how engaged are you going to be during this time period
Clearly it's been a month since the lay off poster no not really but the fact that posts regarding positions, job eliminations pay cuts, being locked out of ADP and email. Dates of when things were taking place all true. On the the other Posts that have nothing to do with this I could care less. Comments that are truely cruel, immature or degrading I just chuckle and think about reality and how some are clearly delusional. Bottom line is a lot of people including myself lives were and are still being turned upside down. So maybe some on here are clearly looking for entertainment or just like to be caddy. I clearly was interested in what was going on and what I was looking at was point on for me and many of my co workers. You can throw all the stones and call it what you want but I have already lived with the disappointment and moved on. So for all that are still employed good luck to you and hopefully it works out. Just brush up the resume cause you may need it in the future.
I received 10.5 weeks and in Michigan no big extra bonus and I only have to pay my portion of insurance through severance date.
After reading this site, would you locate or relocate a company in Sidney? Talk about a deterrent!
To the laid off worker what part of bass pro or Cabelas were you laid off from and were you satisfied with the sevarce pay received?

keep in mine a person supposedly just got laid off so what do they post. Just happens is the poster worried about (the same thing one poster who post all the time on this site) first of all his top concern is most everything on this site is true. 2. of course he is thankful for the opportunity to work at Cabela's 3. the company is doomed for failure. 4. Did this poste never suggest what kind of severance he got of course not . Doesn't sound real to me you just get laid off and you need to get to this site and post most the information on this site is true.

Most of the stuff on this site is true as I have been following since the rumors have started. I am not in Sidney and got the axe February 1st. Everything that people were saying is exactly what happened and is still happening. It is pretty sad I was hoping it was rumors but it was fact. The day came couldn't sign in to email or ADP before even being told. I do feel this company is heading down a bad road as I know certain stores are no longer making their days because networking is taking place and certain stores are losing key customers. I am not bitter as I have found something else but I do feel bad for my friends that are still going through the non-sense. You can read different sites for more information on things going on with the financial end of things with this. Two possibly three stores closed already but that's what happens when you don't really know what your doing and piss off the company that financed you. Sad state of affairs.

Recent posts like the one Appleby's was closing was another posts you realize was one of those 95 to 99 percent of which are wrong. Yes this site provide some useful information you just have to keep in mine 95 to 99 percent of the post on this site needs to considered for entertainment purpose only.
You are right people get more information from this site then from management or HR. The only problem is on this site in need to figure out which 1 tp 5 percent is right an which 95 to 99 percent is wrong. However some times you know for sure when the information is wrong like the time a poster stated this was an extremely easy merger to complete and would take less then two months to complete or the time a poster stated bass pro was buying Cabela's to eliminate a competitor and would fire every Cabela's employee nationwide when the deal was finalized or the time a poster stated Jim and D--k decided to sell Cabela's in his presents those were examples of a person who hates Cabela's so much he was simply letting his negative wishful thinking get the best of any reasonable thinking.
They can sit back and laugh all they want; but will eventually be standing/and or calling the unemployment line like everybody else.
Don't worry. HR will eventually be a thing of the past. Paycor.com and sites like it are pretty much taking over. You can do your own human resources information on the computer. Big corporations are already using this and saving a fortune.
Lies? Maybe some, but if look back at the BP rumors that turned out to be true, the Elliott rumors that turned out to be true, The Quad rumors that turned out to be true, most of the layoff rumors that turned out to be true, among others...I wouldn't exactly say that it is BS.
With the BS, unprofessional, deceptive tactics of Cabelas and whatever the heck BP is doing now, people get more information here than they do from their own managers and HR dept. which is just sad and sorry. But it's something to cling to.
In all honesty so many of the posts are untrue and hurtful. However it is a way-for people to relieve a little stress and perhaps take out some frustration on the site rather then somewhere else. So perhaps you are right HR may not mind.

Actually, they sit back and laugh at the BS that is posted to this site. They laugh at the bitter people that get off on posting absolute lies about the company. This sote really doesn’t bother them at all since they understand that it is for entertainment purposes only.
