Thread regarding Viacom Inc. layoffs

The Viacom Layoff Playbook

It'll start first thing in the morning, and when you start seeing people walking around with all the same colored folders you know it started. That's how it was back in 2015- I was one that lost my job then. Telling you guys - best thing that ever happened to me was getting out of that mess of a place. It's scary as hell to loose your job, but trust me, you'll come out better for it.

@ufc this is true - this resembles my 2017 layoff experience.

Good luck to all.

Its a very precise, orchestrated process. There is a time line all day long that supervisors must follow to the letter. Your supervisor will have an exact time they must speak to the person being laid off at and then there is an exact time you are then told to go speak to HR. So I think my time was 9:30am followed by a 10am meeting in HR. HR hands you your folder. By the time I got back to my office, my supervisor has laid off 2 more members of my own staff and had 5 more to do.
