I assure you that more were laid off in Texas in 2015 than Calgary, at least from Enbridge.
There were layoffs in Alberta in 2008.
Screw the NDP! Before 2015 no one in Alberta got laid off and I know we all felt very, very secure in our jobs. I'm old enough to remember the oil "crash" in the 80's, none of this garbage happened back then. You could walk into any company and get a good job thanks to having the Conservatives in charge. Heck, look at Oklahoma or Texas. Run by Republicans and they've been doing great the last few years, the boom times never ended down there. If you google "Oklahoma Texas oil layoffs" nothing comes up, thanks to having conservative geniuses (redundant I know!!!) running the show.
I've lived in Alberta my entire life (40 years) and I never saw a restaurant close or heard of a company laying people off until 2015. It's all the NDP and Notley's fault this is happening. I had to sell my quad, my boat, both skidoos and I can't even afford to replace my 2015 diesel Ram. SMH the UCP would fix everything.
