Thread regarding Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) layoffs

A new day today

With old CEO gone and a new one in, it is a new day. And hopefully a new beginning and a promising future for this company built by legendary Bill and Dave.

I hope the cronies of the old CEO also leave, cuz if they don't leave, this company will remain crippled. The HR policies of this company is a disaster. Time for fresh blood in HR.

"To us the most clueless ones are the managers who made one after another really bonehead moves who were told, at the time, that they were bonehead moves, but they did them anyway."

Why would you follow such managers?

Meg's executive team (and those before them) is certainly responsible for the decline of HPE. They screwed up Palm, bought Autonomy, missed smart phones, missed the cloud ... and so on. No one disagrees with that.

But HPE (and HP) has been in the decline for years. The writing has been on the wall for years. Everyone is responsible for their own future. There is no good reason to follow failed management for years. If I got burned by clueless management for 3 months, shame on them. If i got burned by the same clueless management for 3 years, shame on me.

"The two most clueless groups of people in the world are North Koreans and HPE employees, but at least the North Korean citizens have an excuse."

Those of us who were involved with HP's Cloud disaster would probably have to disagree with you. To us the most clueless ones are the managers who made one after another really bonehead moves who were told, at the time, that they were bonehead moves, but they did them anyway.

2uxo: So nice to have an AxxHxle here to keep us straight on our lifes failures. Thank you! A friend told me once that you fell behind technology because you slept last night. So true. But, I was not allowed to go against the business competition because MY management asked me to work on what their vision was. While I was in the military, I was told to not attack Canada because their vision was not to do that. I did what my management said. If I opened my own country, I could attack Canada. If I opened my own company, I could build a ___ and compete with those that had the same thoughts.

Blaming the employees for a failed vision is an AssHXle thing to do. You are such an Axxhxle. It is like blaming the horses for the Donner party cannibalism.

The two most clueless groups of people in the world are North Koreans and HPE employees, but at least the North Korean citizens have an excuse.

It doesn’t matter if Karl Marx was CEO of HPE... he’d still be doing layoffs and offshoring because the employees are a bunch of whiners with 1998 tech skills that are irrelevant and no one is buying or needs HPE products.

Wake up and get a new job instead of coming here and blaming Meg Whitman for all the problems in your life.

It would be wise to understand that Antonio was there with Anna the entire time. Any clue that things are going to change would begin by having the outside consultants walked out the door like the thousands of HPE employees before them. Only then can you believe that Antonio has a different vision. If not and Anna is by his side, that might be a clue that he was always in agreement with what was done and Whitman was there to take the heat and give him a clean slate.

From the perspective of the company, it is not clear that what is left can really execute on the plan or the product line. So even if Antonio wants to make HPE a great company again, it is not clear he has enough left to do so.

"First things first, let's stop the ongoing WFR's and give the remaining survivors a sense of loyalty and job security."

How is he going to do that when revenues are declining? It is really about making something where is a growing market wants to buy first .. everything else will sort out after that.

New day? Good heavens preserve you, that is insane. HPE is a sh--hole. Maybe new sh-- will get dumped on you, that is the new awaiting you there.

I see Antonio as the last gasp of HP on the HPE side. He will either be the nail in the coffin or the one who revive it from the brink of death. 22 years at HP/HPE means he has some hints of THE HP WAY in him.

First things first, let's stop the ongoing WFR's and give the remaining survivors a sense of loyalty and job security.

Next, let's do some housekeeping and put all these companies we purchased on the same page. Aruba may not like it.

Stop the bleeding of sending of jobs offshore. Those guys/gals quit and move to greener pastures after we have trained them 6 months or a year later.

Bring everyone back to the office, the party atmosphere, and The HP Way.

Of course, the other path is for Antonio to enrich himself in the next 2-3 years by selling out HPE in pieces. He can retire comfortably like any other greedy CEO in corporate America.

Bill and Dave are dead, HPE is dead... Doesn't make sense to continue walking around smelling dead carcasses, you should find another job...
