Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Enhanced security

What is it with all the extra security they brought in for today? What exactly is it they are thinking we might do? Seriously, has there ever been an incident during Sears layoffs or closing of a store? If there were, I haven't heard about them. So they expect us to start doing what exactly now? Talk about unnecessary theatrics...

Most people aren't sociopathic enough to do something like that, especially if it would involve planning way ahead to get something in place while they still had a job. And the risk that they might get caught and never work in IT again probably dissuades most of those who might otherwise try it.

@1cdy ... because IT is only for weak nerds? I'm pretty sure only the people that still think that are ones that have never surpassed stockboy, so they never actually had to interact with IT.

@1dqs and @1xzk Normally, I would agree with you, but I think most IT people at Sears know that its not even worth the effort, the systems/infrastructure doesn't need any help failing. A few years ago .com went down on black friday, registers and systems regularly go down, most processes only have 1 person that actually knows whats going on since everyone else was laid off. Most of the backend systems are so bandaided that doing anything to them breaks 10 other things.

I always think that when I hear about IT layoffs. That there is going to be system wide payback. I am surprised that I haven't seen it yet.

Should you pi** off your IT guys? Couldnt they do some nasty stuff that you wouldnt know about for a while after they left. Just thinking viruses, bugs in system? Real question

We know those IT tech geeks are just so physical and dangerous. They might just get all hot and nasty with those worked-out brains! Maybe they’ll get so pissed, they’ll throws their glasses at the security guards. Beasts.

I am @hms. My post should have read:

Secondly I hope SHC was not dumb enough to withhold the employees severance and make them pay for the broken window and chair.

@vue, I am trying to be funny and serious in my reply.

First off yes the employee should have not thrown the chair out of the window. I side with the employer because they were probably very angry.

Secondly I hope SHC was not dumb enough to withhold the employees severance and make them for the window and chair.
