Thread regarding FMC Technologies Inc. layoffs

Get out while you can

Gears is on the way out, R&D’s budget was slashed. Read the writing on the wall. Services will be heading to another country soon. Don’t be nieve. Ask yourself if you are walked out tomorrow what can you land and how quick. If you answered I will have a job in a month, than take it now. The future of deep water is dead for some time.

Oh Sarah. Let the people who are taking advantage of the company alone. The company takes advantage of them.

Remember you can be replaced in a week so take care of yourself. If you think you are irreplaceable. Quit see how fast you are replaced. For better or worse.

Compare your check to the companies net profit. That's how insignificant you are.

Why are there so many engineers, Technical Delivery Specialist", basically doing nothing? We need to trim them out immediately. Also, remove planners in TDS roles. Trim down the OT in the shop, get rid of at least 2 engineering managers, 1 could manage all the engineers. There is so many roles that basically do nothing but watch the clock and look at their paychecks.

What about getting rid of asset planners and making engineers technical delivery specialist? That made sense too

This is BS!! No offence to who post this.

But why will services be moved to a different country?

So GOM customers will have to pay fly in TSP and Engineers for installations and commissioning.

Doesn't add up to me.

Be strong and start searching.

You will be lucky finding a job in this market in a month unless you take a massive pay cut, not in your field. I and others who have been laid off late last 2016 and early 2017 are still unemployed who were actively seeking employment for the last year. Don’t think it’ll be easy. Good luck.
