Company restructuring and changing directions again. Only a month after the last reorganization. Approximate 20 percent RIF from the already skeleton crew, across the board hitting dev, QA and deployment. Mediocre severance package is better than nothing and in ways I am glad to be free of this mediocre company and their repeated questionable upper management decisions. After losing so much talent they will sink sooner than later.

Just over a year later what remains of the company is being acquired and they have laid off another batch of engineers and all that remained of QA. With the steady decline of linear TV it seems there is less and less need for DVRs. Anyone still left had better be polishing the resume.
Not everyone got severance packages either... came here to see if they had another restructuring for the third year in a row
Yep, lost some good peeps. Morale is in the dumps and everyone remaining is nervous. Lots of hushed conversations and worried looks. I have started to seriously search for other jobs as have many others.
