Is it true that Zenith has no plans of actually paying anyone a severance package. Reports by employees in the January Layoff, the first of many, have not received any compensation packages at all. Someone needs to flush the toilet, Zenith is a turd and needs to disappear.

I started teaching for CCi back when the E-College platform operated with a dial-up internet connection. I don't know about the other former faculty, but I always took my role as an adjunct very seriously. I went out of my way to work with my students, wrote recommendations when warranted, and recognized that, while on-line learning might not be the best model, was, for some of our students, the last, best chance for them to improve themselves. I miss the interaction with my students, and the opportunity to convey my knowledge and skills to them.
to jcjv,
In the older days of Everest, when we could do 5+ classes, as an Adjunct I pulled in $43,000 one year. Granted you are correct after that, but it did happen in the old days. That was on top of a regular 100,000 salary from another job. Hello college for kids paid, no debt!
Glad to see it gone. Just sad that other for profit bozo schools hire these assistant Deans and know nothing about how incompetent and bias they are.
HA> I have worked here for 15 years. I know the ins/outs of everything and everyone here. I see all payroll and PTO of every employee. I assure you that there is not 1 instructor at this place making over $40k per year. Most were uneducated, Craigslist hires. We even had some that were homeless and slept in their cars. So stop the pandering, stop the crying and go get a job. The real world will tell you how much you are really worth.
A few people got very rich off these schemes and the tax payers a lot poorer. Students got what they deserved, a worthless degree to match what their school product was and the liberal Asst Deans got to harass, dominate and b--ch at those actually doing the job and teaching, and a few adjuncts got a boat, motorcycle, a vacation home or ? It think it worked out fine...
Its good this ship is finally sinking. With the liberals they had as asst deans, its no wonder it sank. They ripped off so many people with worthless degrees. I see where those worthless deans and asst deans are working for other fake schools like Rassmussen College, previously Webster. Doing the same name change BS! They just don't get it and hired the ones that tanked Everest.
The Obama administration wanted all young people to attend the liberal run public universities to indoctrinate the socialist mindset into them.
And thousands of ignorant graduates around the world have less than useless degrees to show for it. It would have been cheaper to pay $25 for an internet phony diploma to hang on your wall, and just as meaningful. The Student has to accept some responsibility, even today they still attend these "for-Profit" schools that still exist to obtain worthless mail order degrees. The culture of instantaneous easy gratification still thrives in the US, so these phony colleges still thrive all over, you can find their ads on TV on the sleazy shock shows every day.
PS: It took three years to close the CCI schools, but in the meantime, the government didn't have to forgive any student debt and ECMC has tax write-offs for years to come with years of revenue from debt collection fees. Pretty convenient marriage.
RE: koie. The reality is that thousands of people are out of a job and corporate leaders kept enough of the system in place to justify keeping their paychecks (all non-profit, of course). The DOE under Obama completed their mission of closing 'for profit' schools. Realize, too, that there were no indictments, nobody went to court, nobody was held responsible for anything that happened: just government taking over another section of the private sector without firing a shot. It's called Marxism.
Someone is bitter, must of been fired years ago or just another troll trying to stir things up. Snowflake living in mamas basement trolling the internet.
Agreed. I've never seen more unqualified, incompetent employees than those who pretend to work at WyoTech (can't leave out management at WyoTech, either) anywhere I've ever worked. One cannot discern whether it's incest or stupidity in these people, but WyoTech was doomed to fail with it's lack of leadership and major a**-kissing relationships. In the words of "Green Day," Good Riddance. And with the asinine aristocrats in leadership in MN, one can clearly see that all you need is a PhD to have your head so far up in the clouds that you will never understand what's happening in the workplace.
Hell yeah we're leaving. Would you pass up a great job offer to stick around for more promises? Once the word was out that WyoTech is closing I received 10 job offers, everything from being a line tech to service manager. I also received an offer from another auto school. The only instructors left come June will be ones ready to retire or ones that never could fix cars in the first place.
I think you meant bye Felatio!
All the instructors I watched make 70k needed help teaching basic hand skills of tire replacement. Must be that had no experience and a designated under desk parking. Bye Felicia
The exodus has begun at WyoTech; instructors leaving before their layoff date. It seems that a promise of a severance package from a pack of lying aristocrats in MN is not enough to stick around until the end. I hope that Strehl and Wheaton can teach diesel and automotive to finish students' contracts.
Don't expect a severance package! Two years ago I was told to work remote. That lasted a few months until a couple of the so-called leaders called for a phone conference. Bam! Suddenly I was out of work - no severance package and not even a fond farewell.
Turns out that during that time, an entire raft of professors were let go along with Directors, Associate Deans and Deans. All in all, it was a blessing in disguise.
This mass layoff happened at the Tampa Office - not campus but the office.
I didn't say what you made in earlier post but I will comment with knowledge. You obviously worked for Wyo Tech as full time instructor because if you worked for Alterrius/Everest peanuts.
As an instructor my salary last year was $73,425.00. Your assumption that we make 25K is just a little low.
Absolutely not true. Management gets 6 weeks Sev. Part time gets 2 weeks. Adjunct get zip. Your Adjunct, why would we pay you? Your don't even qualify for benefits.
Look people. If you dont like it leave. I understand 70% of you are working paycheck to paycheck. My advice. Stop spending money on stupid things like nail and hair care. When I look in the parking lot I see instructors driving $50,000 cars. YOU make like $25k per year, are you insane? If your car note is more than your house, your a dum dum. This is why you are complaining. Because you do not have financial freedom. Stop complaining, update your resumes and get a new job. And stay off social media!!!
I don't think we should receive the severance package until the end of February.
If you find a new job, take it. You'll be lucky to get 6 weeks pay, at best, for severance pay. Leave this joke of a company called Zenith as soon as you get a chance.
If your title is Adjunct, you son't get squat....
It basically depends on your title. Some people got 1 month to 1 year depending on how high you are. If you are a peon you will get two to 4 weeks.
Well, it's Friday. Can anyone verify if they received a decent severance package? If so, any specifics such as how many weeks or months of pay, and or, continued insurance benefits?
Severance for People who actually termed in January are supposed to be received this friday
Many people just want to ride it out and some get stay on bonuses which is a payout to stay until the job ends.
Many can't and won't leave. Many have bozo degrees from for profit schools and can only teach at for profit schools like Everest.
It will be interesting to see how the fat cats in MN react when instructors leave as quickly as rats on a sinking ship. Who's going to teach the teach-out when everyone wises up and finds real jobs before graduation?
2 weeks pay.
Fake News!
