You guys do realize the reason why she’s gone, right? Sycamore most likely wanted to make more drastic cuts and she wasn’t as flexible as they wanted her to be.
By getting rid of her and bringing in an outside CEO, he will report directly to sycamore... meaning, MORE LAYOFFS WILL BE HAPPENING.
This is not the end and unfortunately, none of this will end well for the majority of employees.
Be smart, don’t hold on - be brave and start looking for a new job (if you haven’t done so already), hire a resume writer, network! Do everything and anything to get out of there! Trust me there are some wonderful companies out there. Don’t be surrounded by negativity - get to a place where you feel happy and appreciated!
The next CEO will carve up budgets and slash costs in a way Staples has never seen. It will get ugly very quickly if the margins aren’t there.
Goodness, one day notice for her. I wonder why so abruptly? Give the lady at least 2 weeks notice so she can xchange hugs and kisses.

Be careful for what you wish. Many of you may not have liked Shira but watch for who is going to be next CEO.... it's unfortunate... Staples will not be around in the next few years and we thought Depot would be gone first. This goes from bad to worse.
They were on the hook for a lot of money if the dropped her before a certain date. Must have really wanted her gone.
