Thread regarding Kellogg layoffs

Just got my K W2

Correct me if I'm wrong but I was under the impression that we would NOT be taxed on the gifted car. I specifically asked that question about Fed taxes. Well to me looks like over-value of the car on my W2 as earnings.

K valued the car at 13,000 to “cover the taxes” in the car and afford you the $10k gift with taxes included. They paid the taxes too however those are reflected in your pay along with the car. They did everything they said they would do legally. And no you did not get ripped off

Unemployment wasn't affected by our severance package, told them from day one that i would get a package eventually.Only was on unemployment for 3 weeks until my background check came through for new job.So helloggs gave me $53,000 to find another job, thanks for the memories.

great point on health insurance for '17 taxes. I don't think I have. I'll have to chk with my fellow ex employees.

did K overvalue the cars on our taxes to give K a bigger write off on their taxes?

the quote to buy my co. car (I did get it gifted to me) seems alot lower then what may be on my taxes.

for example I could have bought the car ; if it was not gifted to me; for 10k but on my taxes it looks like K valued the car at 13k. to allow K to have a greater write off on K taxes?

And I was told the retention package would not affect unemployment.

That was a lie, wiped it put completely.

But hey, at least I got to pay a boat load of taxes on it!
