Thread regarding Flextronics International Ltd. layoffs

More cuts, more pain in 2018

I hope things improve but this is not looking good for Flextronics in 2018 - we can only guess what's in store in Q2 and beyond:

Re: Notice of “Mass Layoff" Pursuant to WARN Act

Dear Mayor Greg Fischer and Rapid Response Team:

This is to notify you that Flextronics Americas LLC (“Flex") will be conducting a “mass layoff" at our Louisville

facility located at 4400 Commerce Crossings, Louisville, KY 40229, as defined by the Worker Adjustment and

Retraining Notification (WARN) Act. The mass layoff will occur in phases, through September 2018. Flex

anticipates that all layoffs will be completed by the end of September 2018. It is anticipated that approximately

314 Flex employees will be affected.

All affected employees have been properly notified and will be eligible to receive a separation payment.

There are no unions representing the affected employees. Flex does not have any seniority system, and affected

employees do not have “bumping rights” to displace other employees.

We regret the need to take this action, which is the result of a corporate restructure and executive decision to exit

some existing business relationships while transferring others into an existing Flex location in Memphis, TN. We

are making every effort to help our employees through this difficult time. In addition to providing severance

packages in accordance with company policy, we are also attempting to place impacted employees within other

Flex sites wherever possible. We will also be contacting neighboring employers and inviting them to ajob fair to

recruit our affected employees. We thank you for your continued support as we manage our business.

The job titles of positions affected by the mass layoff, and the number of affected employees in each job

classification, are attached as a separate page.

For further information, please contact me directly, at (774) 232-1374.
