Is it another Facebook rumor? Heard tech employees at the Teradata company outsourced to India. Some truth to rumor? Do what we did when BofA sent our jobs outside USA. Apply for trade adjustment assistance cause it helped us with job hunt reimbursements and relocation costs to new area for job. Wage subsidy for up to two years is available to help reemploy older workers. Few dudes skipped job hunt to get/finish tech degrees or get new certs or get a new career degree in fields like medicine or teaching and the trade adjustment assistance footed the cost. Won't penalize Teradata if you're worried bout it. It's separate federal program of the United States government. Don't keep info to yourself, share with other folks at other companies. Number of petitions filed, says many USA folks getting outsourced.

In John's Creek Accounts Payable, Intercompany, Fixed Assets, all being outsourced to India just like IT was. Expect employees to stay to assist in the transition until Jan 2019.

Check https://www.doleta.gov/tradeact/benefits/2014-amendment-att1.cfm and it does not appear that any exTeradata IT people have taken advantage of this FREE GOVERNMENT program. TONS of BENEFITS just waiting for you to grab. But you write here instead of taking action. It is a non-Teradata program so okay to apply for certification. Teradata has outsourced IT to an India company called HCL. I know this because I got the boot out the door myself (former software engineer). New management is completely incompetent. I used to be proud to work for such an awesome Dayton based company. Now though.... Teradata has become like an airliner in the air that has lost its hydraulics and therefore cannot control itself. It's sad.

Dayton Ohio...It was hit hard at New Year and lost of 1/3 of IT department. If you want to be techincal, you do not want to be in IT at Teradata. They prefer to allow India to manage this 100% going forward. Although an 80/20 model failed 7 years ago. Hence they in-sourced all of IT. Now new management believes they can outsource all of IT. New management can not make a decision. They have to hire third party firms to tell them what to do. Amazing!

This could be true, you are losing your job to cheaper resources. The company doesn't care they want more profit. It's time to unionise.

Yes, true. I heard some were let go immediately, others were given 90 days to train the people to take over their jobs. I don't know anything about the program that you're talking about, but we lost people and it's sad. It's done SO quietly. You only find out from the rumor mill.
