There might be lawsuit at least in the IT area. White women in management, white women in technical jobs, and even just whites in general are the minority in IT. Many white women in management were let go and replaced by non-white males (mostly newly hired friends). This has been the trend for the last 2 years if not longer. If anyone has lawyer connections please have them call Staples and get all the numbers. I am sure they can then gather a list from LinkedIn of people to contact.

Someone is clearly talking out of their @ss. Do you know how many times Staples has been sued and lost? Several. In my office alone there were so many lawsuits I'm surprised Staples didn't come in and burn the building down.
That's what Mr bellpeper said, after he hot a 16 million dollar settlement. Look and read, happen in California a grear case by asset protection ..... do it, you never know
"Good luck with that. First, Staples has a team of lawyers that will be infinitely better than what you could get. Second, there’s no way any court would seriously even consider this “case.”'

Oh that is hysterical. "Staples has a team of lawyers that will be infinitely better than what you could get." Have you ever dealt with Staples legal? In house legal doesn't do employment related matters, they dealt more with leases, etc. They outsource employment disputes and those lawyers charge huge. Also, the had of legal was let go. Congratulations Sycamore. You have one more expense to add to this hugely profitable company you acquired. Who knew this would be such a disaster???? Everyone who opted not to buy Staples.

That does not count. The company decided a while ago to let contractors go and have been letting them go regularly.
I think you have lots of misunderstanding about the current layoff. There are many Indians who lost their jobs. An entire team of Indian contractors were laid off and associate as well. So thinking that, only white employees are getting targeted is complete rubbish. I personally know around 10 associates and more than 25 Indian contractors who are Indians who got laid off.
My team went from about 50% to 90% Indian as a result of the layoffs. No Indians were let go.
In IT most of the senior managers and directors are Indian and they are hiring their buds. Just look what happened last week. I do not think one Indian was on the hit list....
most of the larger companies are mostly Indians now, regardless of what the media tells you. Companies like Facebook, Google, etc, game the statistics by reporting "permanent" employees and excluding contract employees. There's plenty of lawsuit material in Staples itself, but not of the sort for individual benefit. yay, diversity.
Walking through the IT offices it is about 20% whites. Women in management in the IT sector was low to begin with but over the last few years many women in management were let go. Sure they hire woman in lower paying positions but not in any signification position if the reporting chain is non-white males.
I get your point, but by a large majority, sad to say but Staples probably had a higher than average number of white associates versus other ethnic groups. Same with women versus men in most areas. My current team is composed six women and two men, previously it was eight women and three men So the numbers will be skewed slightly towards women of any ethnicity.
