Thread regarding Staples Inc. layoffs

I worked for staples for seven years I worked at the Grill side of the company. They lied and lied and said there was nothing to worry about. I knew better but I trusted them for God knows what reason. After weeks of being told everything was OK they laid off 150 people all acquisition. Then they laid off half of the account managers then they sent all the jobs to Canada. Quill was no more. As far as severance goes it’s a week Pay for every year works pretty shoddy if you ask me. They don’t give you your severance all at once they pay it out weekly so you’re not flooding unemployment benefits. Whole teams were let go in Maitland just last week all of them premium account managers and tech so don’t wait until you’re let go for this one week severance. Get out there get yourself a better job before everybody floods the job market. The writing is on the wall

Premium and membership team? haha... their days are just as numbered. If they still believe they add any value or are "safe" - they have to think again. The people leading that department are delusional - run as fast as you can out of there, don't believe a word any of them say.

And entire team in Maitland just got let go.

I was telling a friend the same thing. This is horrible and it is people's livelihoods. We should not be making mean comments. And yes, this is newsworthy. If I cat being rescued is newsworthy; a slew of people left unemployed is newsworthy. I too, at nearly 50, am with the person who made this original comment. And I am sorry for you - and depressed for me. Wishing you well.
