Thread regarding CVS layoffs

Sam’s club closes 63 stores, customers were showing up to closed stores.

If Walmart can close 63 stores with hardly any notice to employees and customers, I’m afraid of what CVS has up thier sleeves.

Working for Retail is getting so scary.

Job security is one of the main reasons I chose to work for CVS. It’s what kept a smile on my face. It’s what pusehed me to work so hard. The thought that I was working for a strong company that surely wasn’t going anywhere. But these days, the fear has me crippled with anxiety.

Can’t believe this is happening. My husband worked for CVS also. And his store closed last year.

If anyone has info please post, being blindsided is the worst.

Brick and mortar will always be a little risky but will always be wanted. But every company and especially CVS needs to remember to treat employees well and their customers will be treated well.

Wait...didn’t they change from options to the ACTUAL value of shares when issued...after they issued options over $100 that will be worthless after 7 years. Who makes those decisions?

Nope! CVS will not share anything with their employees, Corporate, or the Field. Larry Merlo, and top brass, only care about making more money for themselves, in the form of stock options, but not for the employees, and certainly not for the shareholders!

I wonder if CVS will "share" the $1 Billion Dollar savings due to the recently implemented tax cut?! Bonus for corporate big shots perhaps...

People need to stop shopping online. That’s the silent killer of retail. Amazon, etc!

It involved 11,025 employees, some of which were delivered the news to their house by FedEx, courtesy of Wal-Mart.

When are people going to learn NOT to sop at these big retailers, such as Wal-Mart, and CVS. Shop your local stores.
