So does anyone know what that “additional lump sum for those enrolled in medical” meant or was referring to in our layoff notices?

Is it truly that hard to get a job with medical bennys? You can work part time at the quicky mart and pull down a 401k.
My advice - Stop your complaining. I saw this all the time from instructors and staff at these campuses. Always blaming other people for your situation. Look in the mirror. Nobody is holding you back except you. Set a trend and rise above your lack of.
Most companies have great medical if you have the skills and experience to demand those types of benefits.
Good luck finding one that has decent health insurance. Changed ours this year, doubled employee contribution and has higher co-pays and deductible.
Or you just get another job with benefits like most people do.
