Thread regarding Citrix Systems Inc. layoffs

Citrix outsourcing IT

I keep hearing rumors from individuals of different levels that they may be planning to outsource most of IT in the near future. Wonder how long before the Contact Us page on the corporate web site has a Bangalore address/phone?

Anybody else hear about these rumors? Any truth to them?

All of ShareFile support has been trained in Bangalore and they will be eliminating the team in Q2. The Customer Success team has also been outsourced to Costa Rica and the new "Success" team will focus their efforts on retention and then passing any SF issues onto Bangalore. The platform has been in a free fall for the past few years so this will be the final nail in the coffin.

Rumor has it the March 13’th date will not include the IT folks. The 13’th layoff will focus on the product line people that are not contributing to cloud.

IT will come a little later in micro layoffs that can fly under the WARN Radar notification act.

They already started this last year with Facilities - outsourced it all. Most of those people are still here but now as contractors. As someone in Citrix IT, I welcome it. I’ll gladly take the package and watch from outside-in, the continued decline of a once visionary company.

SB is a joke. The fact that he steps into CIO role, lays a bunch of IT off (guess how many Security Org people were let go?), and THEN nominated HIMSELF for “Security Professional of the Year” and sends out emails to employees pandering for votes (followed by follow-up emails from directors asking for votes for him) shows exactly how out of touch this guy is with reality and common decency. Can’t decide which is bigger - his self-inflated ego or his complete lack of awareness.

People in IT started leaving the company and this doesn't look like a rumour anymore. EM and ELT has some big plan to execute in coming months which includes outsourcing IT. Waiting for my package.

This is standard operating procedure for a company that switches from growth mode to bean-counting mode. Although everyone will complain, they will be willing to accept a degradation in service in exchange for decent salary savings, because that's all that matters to the executive's who need to meet their annual goals in order to bonus. Sadly, what usually follows is a degradation in service and product across the board and customers who no longer believe in the "value" you bring to the marketplace.
