It's Bloody Wednesday at Tyson Foods. IT dept is getting the axe today. My group had 40+ people.
At least 6 got the axe this morning. More to come, I'm sure. This has been in the works for some time, but the Jackass in charge has kept everything so quiet it was hard to be prepared. I was totally caught off guard, and so were the others.
What really gets me upset is they’re hiring people to replace us. They’re bringing in all these IT people from the outside and pushing us out. The joke is going to be on those guys. Once another reorg happens they’ll be out on their rears too. What goes around comes around.
3meh, Nope he's still there. Seems like there's still a lot of confusion about who's doing what, who's reporting to whom, and people understanding what their jobs are supposed to be. As long as it took them to finally announce the re-org, they apparently didn't think it all the way through to leave people in limbo like this.
Curious what sort of package everyone got? Did tyson take care of them at least?
Hope the one leading that organ change mgmt stuff goes with them. Heard he spent the last effort in core writing a book and gives all the work now to his lieutenants. Nice but a waste of a paycheck if we're supposed to be getting getting leaner.
