Makes no sense. He was the architect of the mess we find ourselves in now.

Since it’s massive layoff day, start with Ruh.
Fowler is worse than Ruh in everything except all hands. He and his ideas have messed up previously working IT, he needs to just f---ing go, maybe before Ruh, maybe together.
So, Flannery shuffles the board - now he needs to send Ruh on his way. It is time. It sends a poor message to the team that a bad leader is allowed to stay. Fowler is not much better though. Pure politician and last decade thinking.
Hasn't this tool been fired yet?
Just speculation, Ruh will be shown the door soon. In Flannery's weekly videos Fowler was mentioned multiple times but Ruh not even once. Fowler is going to replace Ruh.
No way Ruh makes it to the end of 2018.
@3uli that's the $1B question...what software to build to spur industrial productivity...currently the best and the brightest think its blockchain or augmented reality...im skeptical...but it sure isnt predix, and ruh doesnt have the answers, so cuts will continue as legacy digital rev streams dry out
The alternative to Run and prefix is?
It's hard to believe people are here defending Ruh. He over-promised and under-delivered -- badly "missing his numbers" -- year after year after year. If GE were truly a meritocracy, he would be long gone. The cash drain from GE Digital got so bad that analysts were openly questioning Immelt about it before his departure. Toward the end of Immelt's reign, Ruh seemed to wriggle away from GE Digital's failures by blaming subordinates and replacing them. He should only have been able to play that game a few times before it was obvious it was time for a change at the top. But, he's still there.
I always thought Ruh survived so long because Immelt didn't want to admit he'd made a mistake with him. Ruh being kept by Flannery is inexplicable, disappointing, and depressing.
Shared service have always charged the BU's either directly through IBS or Corporate assessment. How do you think your salary is paid. Digital has to be a p&l to provide chargeable services to external companies. Late on prefix not really though the build your own and they will come was expensive and flawed at the time no one flagged it and Digital has now adapted.
How many months pay did Executive Band employees get?
He was too late on Predix. Digital should never have gotten a p&l though, shouldve been building long term infrastructure instead of charging other verticals out the nose for half built systems. No long term vision from upper mgmt, the old guard was ready to bail and they did late last year, retiring with their millions
Company making bad acquisitions not Ruh's fault. Neither integrating TSG and GIS or IIOT which Miller got the ball rolling on.
