Monday I will be putting in my two weeks and want to make sure my 48hrs of vacation time will be paid out. If not im gonna use it. Finally getting off the titanic, cant wait!

@ 5sgz What state was that in and how much Vaca time did you have left?
I called hr and they told me they do pay out for vacation time. I even wrote that I will be paid my vacation time with the hrs in my resignation letter. It’s also in the ny labor law they must pay out for vacation time unless they clearly state otherwise. I have a copy of the vacation time payout policy that shows this to be true. If they didn’t you could have a legal case against them
I put in 2 weeks notice. Left. Got paycheck on next pay date. I worked 1 day into the next pay period received only 1 day pay on final check 2 weeks later. No vacation time was on check
My experience, I gave just under two weeks and at that point had just vacation and a few hrs of sick/personal. Used that up at my convenience. They would not approve the use of vacation time because it was under the normal grace period nor could they tell me if I would be paid out. So I banged in the day I wanted anyway to see what would happen. Either way I was taking the day, what can they do fire me? Turned out I was not paid for the day I banged in but I was paid out all of my time afterwards. I also did not think my route or jobs were any worse or made to be more miserable during my final time. Worst thing I could say happened was I had one call in the AM my last day... a BS call to check amperage in the town farthest from the shop. I was surprised they even sent me out to the field the last day.
If you decided to quit and not giving them 2 weeks notice?. They can make your life miserable if they want to, it happen to one of my coworker and he regreted it deeply. Why do you think they are asking for weeks notice if you are resigning?.
Another question, what if you decide to quit but do not give 2 weeks, do you lose you accrued vacation time?
I took the VRP and used up all my vacation, sick and personal or lose them. I don't know about resigning.
By law they would have to, but they can also make you use it, that would save them a week's salary
