Thread regarding Citrix Systems Inc. layoffs

Citrix is now firing for no reason

At least not one that I can see. In the last ten days two exemplary employees were shown the door. For the life of me I can't figure out why.

Is this their new system? Firing people who have been with the company longer to avoid all the costs associated with layoffs? I certainly wouldn't put it past them...

Sh--ty people who get fired always think they were doing a great job. News flash - 85% of you are mediocre.

Is not it a at will employement? You can leave the company by serving 2 weeks notice, and I think same notice period is applicable for the company. In rare cases if there are violation of code of conduct or any disciplinary action is taken, it could be immediate.

I had heard that low performers somewhere in bottom 5-7%, would be trimmed regularly like it happens in many other companies. That was the one of the reason of bringing the new evaluation process last year. I think generally the low performers are given a chance for corrective actions. Generally if you are doing well and your evaluations, touchpoints, feedback are good you need not worry.

If two good employees disappeared inexplicably, then Citrix is preparing for additional layoffs. This adds credibility to the rumours the 13th of March layoffs.

Some managers/directors likely receive MBOs to restructure their department by concocting pretexts to fire employees and thereby save Citrix severance costs. One such person is Barbara Geoghegan. She repeatedly defamed one of her reports and Citrix fired him, but he turned around and sued her personally along with Citrix. https://www.pacermonitor.com/public/case/22095533/Krieger_v_Geoghegan_et_al

Judging from the voluntary dismissal, Geogheghan’s actions must have cost Citrix some serious money. Citrix and Geoghegan picked a fight with the wrong guy.

To all you armchair QBs who think this doesn't happen, the poos in management hate the US constitution, especially the 2A. If they find out you're a 2A supporter, even if you have perfect performance reviews, they'll find a way to get rid of you. Usually by spreading rumors that you'll shoot up the place. Ask AB; that's his status quo to get rid of non-poos he no longer wants around.

BS. If you got let go, you got let go for a reason. If you see someone get let go, they got let go for a reason. You may not understand it, but why would you if you were not their manager? There are exceptions but most people that threaten to sue are simply ineffective at recognizing their own faults.

Wouldn’t put it past them. I feel like they are trying to get me to quit with how they are treating me past few months. Won’t provide any specifics but I will say I have an exemplary review and performance record for as long as I’ve been here. Need to find a lawyer to consult on the details to see if I have any recourse.

This is not new in this company. I have seen many people were fired within a year too. This is a company with zero value or respect for employees.

Would love more details. Department? Time at company? Prior disciplinary action? Beef with leadership? Location? What were they working on? Individual contributor vs manager?

Nothing new. Was done to me 6 years ago. I know many people who have been down this road.
